Position: Demolition Project Manager

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Project Manager to plan and oversee a wide variety of demolition projects from beginning to end. The ideal applicant will be highly organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask in order to meet deadlines and keep projects running on schedule and under budget.

The Position:
  • Working closely with the site manager or superintendent to manage financial and administrative needs of the project
  • Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
  • Keep track of inventory, tools and equipment
  • Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
  • Prepare job status reports
  • Lead meetings with company staff and client representatives
  • Be solution oriented to solve problems effectively
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and construction codes and regulations
  • Collaborate with management staff, subcontractors, engineers, and key team members
  • Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
  • Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for demolition or other activities
  • Ensure all deadlines are met
  • Assist with hiring subcontractors and staff including field personnel
  • Delegate responsibilities appropriately
  • Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
  • Handle incidents or local community issues appropriately and effectively
  • Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards
Experience Requirements/Preferences:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with others
  • Previous work experience managing demolition or construction projects, or another similar role
  • Highly organized and able to plan ahead and multitask
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A degree and/or certification in Construction Project Management or related field is preferred
  • Familiar with Primavera P6 project management and scheduling software, preferred but not required
  • Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
  • Excellent time management ability
