Project Description

This project consisted of the demolition of the 30 MW gas-fired power station located in downtown Lamar, Colorado. Demolition included the boiler and structures including baghouse, dust collection and coal silos, turbine building, ammonia tank and pump house, various above ground storage tanks, pipe racks throughout North and South plants, air cooled condenser and oil/water separator, RO building, the coal handling system, crusher building, and other support buildings, sheds, and modular structures.

The Coal Conveyor Systems extended over a residential two-lane street which was closed to traffic for 24 hours during the crane pick and removal tasks. During the entire demolition process, Jackson received no noise or dust complaints from the surrounding homes and businesses.
